"AI Search not working or daily limit reached"

"You have reached your daily search limit"

Each patron has a daily quota for AI searches set by the librarian. When you reach it:

  • The search box shows a message: "You have reached your daily AI search limit."
  • You cannot perform new AI searches until the next day.
  • Your search history is still accessible — click any past search to reload results without using your quota.
  • Regular keyword search in the OPAC (/opac) has no daily limit.

What to do: Wait until the next day, or use the standard catalog search instead.

AI Search shows a spinner but never loads

  1. Check your internet connection.
  2. Refresh the page and try again.
  3. If the problem persists, the AI service may be temporarily unavailable. Regular OPAC search will still work.

AI Search returns no results

  • Your school's catalog may not have books matching your query.
  • Try rephrasing your question or using broader terms.
  • Use the standard OPAC search to confirm the books exist in the catalog.

AI Search is not available at all

AI Search may be disabled for your school. Contact your librarian to check if it has been enabled.
