Reading programs encourage students and teachers to read more. You can create and manage them from the admin sidebar.
Creating a Reading Program
- Click Reading Programs in the admin sidebar.
- Click Create Program.
- Fill in the details:
- Title (required)
- Description (optional)
- Start Date and End Date — end date must be on or after the start date
- Target Books — the reading goal (1–500 books)
- Grade Levels — select which grade levels this program targets
- Status — set to Active to make it visible to patrons, or Draft to save without publishing
- Click Save.
Managing Programs
Programs are organized into three tabs:
- Active — Currently running programs visible to patrons
- Drafts — Programs not yet published
- Completed — Programs that have ended
Each program card shows the number of enrolled patrons.
Tips
- Change status from Draft to Active when you are ready for students to enroll.
- Move programs to Completed when they end so patrons know the challenge is over.
- Target books of 10–20 is a good goal for a one-semester program.
